President’s Word
While I am aware of the magnitude of the responsibility to be carried as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Educational Information Network (Shamaa), the expertise in the Board of Trustees and the capable leadership of the executive administration team that has demonstrated their effectiveness during the previous years, facilitated the decision for me to assume the BOT presidency role. I am fully aware that I am following in the footsteps of a distinguished leader, my dear friend Dr. Hassan Al-Ebraheem, who contributed greatly to initiating Shamaa and to ensuring its continuity and growth, until it became an indispensable resource for thousands of educational researchers in the Arab world and beyond.
This network constitutes a unique model of fruitful cooperation between intellectuals, educational researchers, colleges of education, research and documentation centers, theses and dissertations repositories, ministries of education, Arab and regional organizations, as well as business figures and donors who are convinced of the societal responsibility of economic and financial institutions and their vital role in supporting the development of a knowledge society.
As I accept to assume this position, I pledge to you that I will follow my predecessors, and I will be putting additional efforts to expanding Shamaa’s impact on the development of authentic Arab educational knowledge that could shape educational systems in Arab countries to reach the desired levels of excellence.
